It’s been quite some time since we’ve talked about cruise retreats, so let’s get back into it 🙂 This week’s article will focus on retreats for employees and why you should utilize key members of your team to facilitate sessions onboard.
1. Cost Effective: Clearly bringing in someone who is currently on your team is going to be much more cost effective than hiring out. You don’t have to pay the extra speaker fees or cabin and travel expenses associated with an outside speaker, as you have already accounted for those expenses in your original retreat budget.
2. Empowerment: Relying on key team members to facilitate sessions not only empowers those employees, but also helps to facilitate their own transformation within your organization. They will feel the trust you’ve placed in them, and (most likely) want to do an out of this world job with that responsibility.
3. Trust: Make sure the team members you’ve recruited are people who are highly trusted within your organization. This will help your employees trust in the information relayed, and again further the impact of the your retreat programming.
Sometimes you do need to hire outside facilitators, but if you’re just starting out, it may be a good thing to rely on your current team to facilitate the sessions. Let me know your thoughts–do you prefer using your employees to deliver content, or do you like adding an outside expert to the mix?
Have a great week,
