When cruises start really ramping up again, many will be calling on their private islands as ports. So what exactly do these private islands have to offer? Well they all have amazing beaches and delicious meals. Here’s a peek at four unique offerings that are in the Bahamas:
1. Perfect Day at Cococay: This beauty was recently revamped by Royal Caribbean, and it really has something for everyone. Most notable are the floating cabanas you can rent for the day, and the amazing water park, complete with rides and a wave pool.
2. Castaway Cay: This is Disney Cruise Line’s private island, and of course my Disney heart holds and affinity for it. On top of all the water activities, you can also rent bikes to ride around the island, or complete 5K challenge and receive a completion medal at the finish line.
3. Ocean Cay MSC Marine Preserve: MSC Cruise Lines not only created a wondrous island getaway, but also intentionally made a conscious choice for sustainability. The island is also a marine preserve, meant to preserve the wildlife and natural beauty of the Bahamian waters.
4. Beach Club at Bimini: So the beach club really isn’t a private island, but it is a private club for Virgin guests. Remember that Virgin Voyages is also an adults only cruise line. Sustainability is also top of mind with naturally sourced materials in the Mediterranean-inspired setting. And don’t forget the DJ led pool party!
So which private island is calling your name? All of them?! Just kidding. But really where could you picture yourself heading off to right now? I think I’d head out to one of the floating cabanas a Cococay.
