This trip is actually very similar to the trips that I coordinate for my small business clients. Part retreat and part vacation; part learning and part exploring. The learning part comes from the Marketing Masterclasses that are woven into the river cruise itinerary. Also nice–this is a wine cruise (not so nice–I can’t drink the wine), so another layer of building your own river cruise retreat program that I can’t wait to share.
So what other passions might you have or your business focus on that would work great for a retreat on the river?
1. Food and Beverage
So I’ve already given away a little bit about the beverage part, but one of the things I love about river cruising is that you get authentic local cuisine onboard. Also, many of the excursion offerings are based on the love of food…or beverages. If you own a food or beverage business, your customers will be totally delighted when you put one of these events together.
2. Fitness/Wellness
Obviously you will be touring around and getting some light physical fitness in, but there are more opportunities than just walking. River cruise lines have biking and hiking excursions you can take throughout the ports. If you’re not interested in taking a bike tour, you can just rent the bikes for your group and do a custom tour, also. There are onboard yoga classes–and really nothing more peaceful than doing some yoga on the top deck as you’re sailing by castles and vineyards.
3. Coaching
River cruising is a wonderful way to delve in deeper with your coaching clients. Exploring the unique ports is sure to get everyone bonding quickly, and you can pepper in small sessions throughout the sailing. And don’t forget to add a pre-cruise night to welcome everyone and get some of the learning started.
